Wanted to write an update on my cancer and Doctors appointment from today. My Cancer cells & thyroid tissue that remains are still stable and localized but has not shrunk like we were planning. They are increasing my medications and trying to avoid more radiation. I have to go another 6 weeks and see how my increased dosage in medications will work.

if anyone would like to donate to my medical and cancer fund, I'm still selling raffle tickets for my drawing on November 4th. This is for the big screen tv and some gift cards/baskets. I'm still fighting thyroid cancer cells in my neck. I'm currently on some new medications for 6 weeks. Were still trying to avoid another RAI Radiation treatment. I'm currently borderline of needing another round of radiation. Your help would be appreciated. visit

I had my RAI Radiation treatment on April 19th, 2017. The Radiation is still doing its work and will continue to shrink the cancer remaining in my neck. However, there is still cancer present. So right now were just keeping an eye on it to make sure it keeps shrinking. So unfortunately we can't declare me cancer free. I have to give the radiation some more time.

I want to give a shout out to the Laurel Taco Johns from my hometown for making a donation to my Raffle Drawing Fundraiser! It's great to see a Business's help out someone in need. I must say it's been kind of difficult to get some business's to respond and contribute prizes to my medical fund and assist with fighting an illness. Anyone from Laurel the next time you eat at Laurel Taco Johns please do two things for me, #1 have a potato ole for me :0) and #2 than...

Day 3 of RDI Radiation, feeling tired and weak, but getting through this. Its very hard not to be able to go outside or go to the hot tub thats right below my room window. Got a little bit of annoying news, the insurance company BCBS of Minnesota denied my last appeal, so I'm reviewing a few options, My good friend Danielle Moreth Winter sent me a few things to request and demand from them, so I will be trying that first. Just so awful they can just deny paying ...

My Update: Found out this week that i will have to be in Isolation for 12 days based on my dosage of radiation (RAI), higher than originally planned. Most thyroid cancer patients are typically 3-5 days of isolation after surgery. I have elected to stay in outpatient and stay at a hotel during the 12 days rather than at the treatment facility or at home that way my household is not subjected to the radiation. This thyroid cancer thing is such a pain in the ass an...

Good Conversation with one of my Doctors

I had an amazing conversation with one of my Doctors recently. We talked about the signs of Hashimoto's Disease and how people don’t know what it is, or adapt to it unknowingly. Like for me example, I been dealing with it for at least two years before it become serious. I just kept pushing through thinking I was just getting older. Most often people don’t know what it is and we adapt to the minor symptoms, which include, fatigue, low energy, depression, feeling like you don&#...

Off my thyroid medications until radiation

Posted on March 26, 2017 at 11:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Ok so this weekend I had to stop all my medications and to get my cancer antibodies to starve for iodine. I'm already feeling tired and run down. It's hard to sleep at night and I can't focus at work. I just want this to be over with. Not to mention I'm on a low iodine diet and it's been rough.
